I spent my day not working, but still working. I had to paint the front of my house. Well... at least the window trim, shutters and front door. Let me tell you, it may not sound like much but it was a hell of an effort. The worst part is I don't know that it looks much better than it did before because you can still see a few of the chips underneath because we could only scrape so much off given our limited time frame.
Oh well. I did what I could in the small period of time I had before my patience would run out and I would end up splatter painting the rest of the house. That would help it sell faster right?
Yes so all this garbage is being done to get the house acceptable for sale. I mean it has been up a couple months now and it is getting increasingly difficult to live in a house that is always needing to be cleaned and tidied. It is also super depressing to live in a house with so few personal touches.
No family photos. No dorky memorabilia. No Harry Potter Wands on display. I managed to keep my Lego Batman Clock because its practical and my Injustice statue because it holds up my comic books. It is still really depressing looking at such empty and boring shelves.
On the plus side I have become pretty damn good at learning how to quickly get a house ready for a showing using various laundry hampers and closets. Although I suppose potential buyers most likely look in the closets and then are privy to my mess. Oh well can't win 'em all.
Anyways, if you want to buy a house in a rural town in the Ottawa area, let me know. Or, if you are currently also in the process of selling your home, I feel for you. This shit sucks, am I right?
