I am getting surprisingly close to 20,000 words and I thought I would take a quick little break to update you on my progress. So far, my plot resembles about 2% of the original intention. And those 2% are the names I had picked. So really plot wise nothing stayed.
So far the story is a little slow I guess but I don't know how to write character development so give me a break. Also, you won't ever read this draft so it doesn't really matter now does it.
I love Nano. Such a weird time where you can hate it so much when you fall behind and love it so much when you get ahead.
You can love your story because you are thinking "hey, I am writing this without a plan because my brain decided to completely ignore every plot twist I had developed, and also hate your story because it ignores all the hard work planning you did and it probably sucks because you are simply writing as fast as possible.
You can change characters so they probably aren't recognizable to the plan or even the beginning of the novel, but that's what editing is for right? I mean I wouldn't know, I can never make it through the first reread before I give up but maybe one day.
I mean, if I don't edit my novel how will you ever understand the context of this:
“Hettie he is actually really cool, he can name every left handed celebrity!”
And we all know that will drive you crazy until you have the book in your hand.
Well I better get back to work. 500 more words to get to 20k. Also, Shield is on tonight and I am excited to stay up way too late to wait impatiently to watch it once it goes online. Otherwise I can't use social media until I watch it and we all know I can't ignore those, I have so much work to do which means I have even more need for procrastination than usual.
