When I woke up today I thought about what I would want to do with myself on this my 28th birthday. The only thing that I wanted was to watch Harry Potter movies all day.
Watching little Hermoine over enunciate... and little Ron stuff his face full of snacks... and little Harry being all confused about literally everything. OOP, just saw baby Neville for the first time! Look at those cheeks. Ahh, tiny Dean Thomas, how you still look the exact same now just much, much taller. My god this movie is so great.
Could you imagine how someone like me would have handled being sorted in front of a room like that? I would have been drenched in sweat and shaking so violently the hat probably would either vibrate right off my head or its voice would be all shaky. I feel like it would have been like my University Graduation where I blacked out and then didn't remember a moment of it ever but the photographic evidence shows pure fear in my face.
I think the sorting hat yells Draco Malfoy's Slytherin decision before he touches his head because the sorting hat can see that Draco is using way too much gel and doesn't want that all in its fabric. Do you think the sorting hat has lice? It gets placed on a thousand kid heads.. kids always have lice. I guess they can magic it away though. I wonder if there is anti-lice spells.
God there are so many stairs at Hogwarts. I get winded after like, one flight. Imagine having to climb up like forty flights just to go to your room? Even more if they decide to move and rearrange that day?
This is a long rambling discussion that is probably unnecessary for you all. I will stop now. Good day all!
Update: I am livetweeting me watching this movie (At least until I get bored) so go read that @tanosaurusrex
There are people in the world who criticize you for being nerdy. That is a pretty well known fact. But do you non-nerds know that there are just as many people criticizing and evaluating you because you aren't nerdy enough?
(I decided to put a break because it got long a little rantier than usual. I apologize.)
I am currently in the situation where I have to wait. I hate being patient. I am one of those annoyingly terrible Millennials that wants everything instantly. How can I be better at waiting?
Hurry up Already.
Dear Hurry up Already,
I feel your pain. The question you should really ask yourself when this situation presents itself is "What Would Hermoine Do?" Hermoine Granger is the world's most determined person in the world. She gets everything she wants and you know what, she doesn't have to wait for it. If Harry won't get his shit together fast enough to teach the 5th years how to fight, she started the club and just forced him to do it. Hermoine is the Boss Witch. Be Hermoine. WWHD.
Keep your chin up,
I promised you Harry Potter content. So Let's Do this.
Pick one and see what it reveals about you.
Pick your Wizarding World Object
You probably haven't done laundry in two months and just buy new underwear instead of washing it.
Your favourite vegetable is chocolate and you will not let anyone else tell you that you are wrong.
You know how to cook really well but you hide that fact because you are terrified of giving someone food poisoning.
You are louder than most people but only when you are drunk.
You have a terrible memory, at least when related to numbers and people's birthdays.
Something that us Potter fans have been waiting for for YEARS has finally happened. Another Harry Potter story was released this weekend. And where was I? THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITHOUT RECEPTION AND AN HOUR FROM MY NEAREST BOOKSTORE.
So I missed the midnight release but I managed to pick it up at 8:30pm on the way home. I started reading at around 9:30pm and was done before I went to bed.
Now I have not been online looking at reviews or other peoples opinions so I am still untainted of the influence of others, so here is what I have to say:
I very much thoroughly enjoyed it a lot.
I want to not spoil it for those who haven't read it, but I think my favourite part was Ron mother-effing Weasley. That boy knows how to make my heart melt.
I enjoyed the plot style, and it was super fun and I liked the new characters. (Trying to describe this without spoiling it is hella hard guys).
It was kind of amazing to see another story of our favourite characters in ur favourite world but set in the future. It really reminded me that even after the big moments in your life whether good or bad, the world keeps moving and you just have to continue along treading water the best you can. Just figure it out as you go.
Now, if someone would like to send me to London I would VERY MUCH be needing to see this play in the real life and not just in my head. Although I guess my head is the best place for it, but I still want to see it so so so so bad. You guys, go read it now though so that we can all discuss and share. Seriously. GO. READ. HURRY UP.
**Please note, there is a high likelihood that all FancySweatpants.com posts will be Harry Potter related for the upcoming future. It cannot be helped nor should it.**
Hey, Remember that time my dreams came true and I got to go to Hogwarts?
Yeah. I stood there. I took that picture. I even went INTO Hogwarts.
Best three days of my life.
Just thought I would remind everyone including myself that there is some magical things that happen sometimes.
Everyone fits into a Hogwarts House. That is how it works. If you don't know which house you fit into, then I mean, you probably aren't on this website because we have nothing in common.
If you are trying to figure out what to eat for dinner tonight I have some suggestions based on your Hogwarts House.
Here is what you should eat right now based on your Hogwarts house:
Enjoy your dinner everyone! There are going to be a lot of full people tonight.
Who wants to make a Harry Potter reread book club with me?
I don't really feel like reading a new book I just want to reread a book I already know is amazing.
I was doing a full reread of the books not too long ago but I got distracted before the Deathly Hallows so I am going to read that now. I keep wanting to start it during the week but if I do that I will never go to sleep and will end up skipping work and that is frowned upon.
So, Who else wants to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows with me? Everyone? Obviously.
Let us discuss the following things (or at least keep them in mind while you read):
Any ways, off to the books with you all!
I have been in a relationship for a very long time so I have been lucky enough to never need pick up lines. I mean in all honesty even if I were single I wouldn't be able to talk to people enough to use them, so I figure I should give these out to the internet for free to help all you lovely weirdos fall in love. Ready? Let's do this!
Are you the eighth Harry Potter book? Because I have been fantasizing about you for years.
You look like the kind of person who could TOLERATE me for almost five minutes, care to test it out?
Did you know Jennifer ANNISTON bases all her hair choices off me? Or maybe it's the other way around. Either way...Wait, where are you going?
Do you want to look at pictures of my dog?
You are as attractive to me as my sweatpants are to me when I come home from work on a friday evening.
So let me know how these go when you use them on your attempts to get a date! Obviously they are all winners.
The characters of the wizarding world are amazingly brave and wonderful. One in particular is by far the most amazing.
Here are a few reasons why I love miss Luna Lovegood so much.
Not to mention countless other wonderful little things about her that just fill my heart with warm ooey gooey feelings. So let us all go reread and re-watch all the harry potter series so we can appreciate how cool this girl is.
