Context changes how you say some words even when the letters don't change at all. Example: Tanya has read all 7 Harry Potter books. Dave will likely never read any Harry Potter books. Tanya read the Pottermore questions to Dave to determine his Hogwarts house. Dave won't read into the results as much as Tanya will. When Tanya read the results she was very happy to read the word Hufflepuff. Not as happy as when she read her result of Ravenclaw, but it still made her want to re-read the Harry Potter series all over again. You cannot read that series too many times. It is begging to be read. I know grammatically it is about tense and stuff, and that those sentences don't necessarily make sense. But don't you think we could have thought up a couple new ways to spell words instead of just having to pre-read sentences to know how to say a word? This is why I am so afraid to read out loud. Well this, and my crippling social anxieties.
